Traffic Violations Defense in Chicago
Traffic violations need to be fought: Some traffic violations can result in an immediate driver's license suspension or revocation, and other traffic violations put "points" on your license that eventually result in higher insurance rates and license suspension or revocation.

The Illinois Points System
Conviction for some moving violations results in automatic suspension or revocation of your driver's license:
- Driving without a valid license
- Possession of a stolen vehicle
- Driving with a suspended license
- Leaving the scene of an injury accident
- Leaving the scene of an accident with more than $1,000 vehicle damage
- DUI/DWI or drunk driving
Conviction for other moving violations will add "points" to your driving record, which can result in eventual suspension or revocation of your driver's license, as well as higher insurance rates. In general, the more serious the offense, the higher the value of the assigned points:
- Reckless driving: 55 points
- Failing to stop after an injury accident: 50 points
- Driving over 25 mph above speed limit
- Failing to stop after collision with no personal injury: 25 points
- Violating the open container law: 25 points
- Following too closely: 25 points
